THOUSANDS of supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who thronged its mega rally at the Umuahia Township Stadium were disappointed with the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Anouncements that the President would attend had excited the gathering. Many had been waiting for hours for the commencement of the event only to learn that the President is represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.
“We thought the President would have used the opportunity to visit Abia State and explain some of his policies to us,” said one of the disappointed supporters at the stadium.
Among the high points of the event would the presentation of the immediate past Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Azubuike, who has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for APC
