10 finalists emerge in NDDC talent hunt for N/Delta youth
10 people have been shortlisted for the grand finale of the Niger Delta Talent Hunt (NIDETH), organised by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the youth in the region.
The grand finale holds in Port Harcourt, Thursday, September 1.
Shortlisted youth include; Precious Ogiesoba, Honest Amasomawei, Margaret Okoh, Living Atang and Grace Joseph. Others are; Ernest Lawrence, Godswill Imonisan, Abiye George, Doutimiye Owonaro and Elvis Lunar.
The finalists emerged from auditions held in Benin, Yenagoa, and Uyo for participants from the six states in the Niger Delta region.
NDDC inaugurated NIDETH on July 20 to harness creative potentialities of Niger Delta youths in the entertainment industry and address unemployment in the region.
NDDC’s Interim Administrator, Dr Efiong Akwa, who inaugurated the programme in Port Harcourt, said it was designed to tackle challenges and lack of opportunities facing youths in the region.
Prizes to be won are a brand new car, a performance trip to Dubai and internship in reputable companies.
NIDETH has Harry Song, a renowned songwriter, instrumentalist and producer as its lead consultant. The programme is supervised by Udengs Eradiri. Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom’s governor on Youth Development.
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Umana Okon Umana, is among other dignitaries expected at Thursday’s grand finale.
