2023: Court affirms Abacha’s son as PDP governorship candidate in Kano
Federal High Court sitting in Kano has affirmed son of late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Mohammed as the duly elected governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 General Elections in the state.
In his ruling, Thursday, Justice A.M Liman ruled that Mohammad Sani Abacha remained the governorship candidate of the PDP in Kano State, as he also nullified the primary election which produced Sadik Aminu Wali as the Kano PDP governorship standard bearer.
Delivering his judgment virtually, Justice Liman further ordered the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to replace Wali’s name with that of Muhammad Sani Abacha.
The judgement which was earlier scheduled for 12.00 noon on Thursday was later shifted to 4.00pm and delivered around 5:30pm, same day.
The court granted all the prayers of the plaintiff in the suit.
The plaintiff in the suit is Mohammed Sani Abacha, while INEC is the first defendant.
Sadik Aminu Wali and the PDP are the second and third defendants, respectively.
