From Aniekan Aniekan, Calabar
With barely thirty days to the general elections, the Labour Party in Cross River State as well as the Presidential Campaign Council have called on the electorates to embrace the presidential ambition of it’s flag bearer – Peter Obi.
State Chairman of the party, Ambassador Patriarch Ogar Osim as well as the chairman of the Peter Obi Campaign Council in the State Professor James Ekpoke made the call in Calabar.
Ambassador Osim extolled the character and competence of Obi and stressed that it’s the last chance for Nigeria to get it right.
He added that Obi’s ambition is beyond ordinary politics and rooted in God almighty.
In his words, “For us in Labour Party, campaigning for Peter Obi and his Deputy, Ahmed Datti is like a walk through the park because his Character, Competency, Capacity and records are well known to both citizens and non-citizens of the Country.
“Great Politicians, spiritual leaders, traditional rulers, activists, celebrities, business moguls, academics dons, etc. within the Country and beyond are saying this is the last chance
for Nigeria to get it right with Peter Obi.
“It is important to state that Peter Obi Presidential Ambition is beyond ordinary politics.
“It is a divine movement rooted in the plans of the Almighty God for Nigeria.
“There is no amount of manipulation by the opposition that will work because Peter Obi represents the spirit of freedom, the spirit of our heroes who labored and sacrificed for the greatness of our beloved Country and according to the Nigerian National anthem, ‘the labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain”, he said.
He urged the media to join in sensitizing
Nigerians to get their PVCs and vote Labour Party at the poll on 25th February, 2023 exactly 30 days from now and 11th March, 2023 so that we can all enjoy natural resources and blessings embedded in our great Country by the Almighty God.
On his part, Professor James Ekpoke, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar described Peter Obi as a genius and saviour.
He said he has studied him right from his days as a governor and remains the only governor who left money to his successor after eight years rather than debt.
He pleaded with Nigerians to get their PVCs, stand firm, join hands and rescue the country.
