2023: Ebonyi PDP leaders hopeful of victory, vow to resist rigging

Leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, have said they were confident of winning the Governorship position and other elective political offices come 2023 in Ebonyi State, and vowed to resist rigging of the general election.
National Vice Chairman of the party, South-East, Chief Ali Odefa, who hails from Ebonyi State stated this while addressing party members n Saturday during the PDP stakeholders meeting held at Salt lake hotels, Abakaliki.
Odeda said that PDP had all that were needed to take over the state in 2023.
“Do not panic, come 2023, no man born of woman can write result against PDP before you or write the result against us,” he added.
Other leaders of the Party, including the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim and the Senator representing Ebonyi North at the National Assembly, Sam Egwu, who spoke during stakeholders meeting, noted that Ebonyi had been a PDP State,adding that even the incumbent occupier of the office of the Governor of the State, David Umahi, was a product of the party who ran away.
Anyim was also a former Senate President while Senator Egwu was two term former Governor of Ebonyi State.
Egwu told the party faithful that attended the meeting, thus, “I want to assure that you will not be disappointed in your believe in PDP. By God’s grace by next elections as usual, we shall take over all positions including governorship.
“It has happened before, it has always been PDP for Ebonyi state and nothing can change it. I want you to remain steadfast, continue where you are, you are on the right part, you are on the right party and very soon, those who don’t believe will believe”.
Anyim in his speech, said, “all I know is that Ebonyi government house belongs to PDP. We put somebody there, he ran away. We will pick another person and put there in 2023”.
Also, in his remarks, the member representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Livinus Makwe said the party would sack the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) at both the federal and state levels
“PDP will takeover the federal government not just Ebonyi state in 2023 because PDP is a party that when they are in power, the people of Nigeria are happy and you see good things coming up. But since this people came, its only killings that we are seeing. By 2023, all those things will become things of the past”, he said.
The member representing Ezza South state constituency in the State House of Assembly, Chris Usulour assured that the party would remain united to ensure overwhelming victory in 2023 elections.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Chief Fred Udeogu, commended members of the House of Assembly, Senators from the State and others, for their maximum support and sustenance of the party.
