2023: Nkwegu clinches Ebonyi LP governorship ticket

Mr Edward Nkwegu has clinched the Guber ticket of Ebonyi Labour Party ahead of 2023 general election.
He was elected unopposed at the state’s party headquarters along Abakaiki Enugu Highway, on Tuesday.
The primary election was conducted by a national officer of the party, Mrs. Oluchi Okpara who was also the returning officer of the exercise.
Nkwegu in his speech, thanked the delegates of the party for the confidence reposed in him.
He expressed optimism that Labour Party would win the state in 2023.
Meanwhile, a former House of Reps member and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Linus Okorie, a Governorship Aspirant of the PDP, Chief Eze Emmanuel, a Chieftain of the party, Anselem Enigwe, former Commissioner for Education in the state, Prince Chibuez Agbo have defected to Labour Party.
While Okorie is Ebonyi South Senatorial candidate of the party, Enigwe,Eze and Agbo are Senatorial and House of Representatives candidate of LP for the general election.
They candidates witnessed the election of Nkwegu as the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party.
