[From ANIEKAN ANIEKAN, Calabar]
Professor Sandy Onor, the Cross River governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says nobody can intimidate the party.

He made this known at a reception organised in his honour by thousands of his supporters at his Campaign Office in Calabar.
Onor, a professor of History and Fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria urged his supporters to stand firm as they are more than the opposition and will defeat them.
In his words, “nobody can intimate us, stand firm, we are more than them and we will defeat them.
“We don’t need broom in our state but the umbrella”, Professor Onor said.
Decrying the present situation in the state, Professor Onor said the state has been sliding into the valley of the shadow of death.
He said values have been debased, people suffering, structures dismantled and everything in the state has been personalized.
Cross River State he said has been captured by a few and it’s time to liberate it from the vice grip of a few.
“Our state is sliding into the valley of the shadow of death but God forbid this evil government must pass away.
“We have never had it so bad, our values have been debased, people suffering, structures dismantled, our civil service denied opportunity to function and everything personalized.
“Our state has been captured by a few, tortured enough and we must liberate the state from the vice grip of a few because this is not the state we knew”, he said.
He stressed that “Cross River State belongs to all of us and we must join hands to make it better”.
He thanked God for the success of his campaign thus far saying “the biggest element is God Almighty and he had shown himself at all levels thus far”.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion included Arthur Jarvis Archiving, the Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University as well as a former governorship aspirant in the state.
Others are PDP flag bearer for Southern Senatorial District Ntufam Ekpo Okon, among other dignitaries.
