2023: Okowa’s emergence Atiku’s running mate excites Deltans

The emergence of the incumbent Governor of Delta State Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has excited his associates, aides and residents of Delta State.
Some residents of Asaba, Delta State capital who spoke with The Oracle Today on Thursday expressed excitement over his emergence as the vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), describing him as best suited for the job.
Mrs Nkem Ebinum, said that his wealth of experience will certainly be critical in PDP’s efforts to attain a more secure and prosperous Nigeria if elected.
A trader, Donatus Ejiofor said he people of the State are elated by the news of his emergence. “We are happy, all Delta people, the old, young and little children on the streets and entire Nigerians are jubilating over the development.
“We know that God will use Okowa to change the face of democracy in Nigeria.
A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party in Ughelli South Local Government Council, Fejiro Omonemu opined that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has the best comportment, temperament and electoral value to swing votes in favour of the PDP.
According to him, at this time that Nigeria earnestly desires a unifier and nationalist, Okowa comes in handy, as he has brought peace in Delta by actively engaging youths of the state.
He added that given Okowa’s outstanding performance in Delta, he would add real value to governance at the Centre.
Omonemu said that Okowa had connected with the people through infrastructural development, reliable healthcare delivery, quality education, restoration of the state’s sporting glory and youth empowerment programmes.
Relatedly, the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the State Governor, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on his emergence as the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, on the joint ticket with His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as Presidential Candidate for the 2023 general elections.
The congratulatory message was contained in a Press Statement by Delta PDP State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, which hailed the choice as well-merited and described it as a tremendous call to service, in the quest by the PDP to rescue Nigeria from the suffocating leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2023.
