2023: PDP waxing stronger in ABC Constituency, Cross River State – Official
From Aniekan Aniekan, Calabar

Antigha Bassey, the Calabar South Chapter Secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed that the party is waxing stronger not just in the Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency but also the state as a whole.
Antigha stated this in Calabar South during a reception to receive scores of defectors from the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) as well as new members into the party.
“Most of the defectors came from the APC but a few of them were sitting on the fence but decided to pitch tent with the PDP,” he said.
Antigha Bassey who doubles as the Campaign Director General of the Anthony Nya Campaign Council faulted the back to South agenda saying “what they are concerned about is back to us because they are feeling the pains of what is going on in the country and state which has been inflicted on them by the APC.
“Our party, the PDP is waxing stronger not just in the ABC Constituency but also across the state”, he said.
On his part, the Director General of the Hon. Essien Ayi Campaign Organisation, Emmanuel Effiong says only the incumbent House of Representatives has the experience and competence to represent the area in the national assembly.
Effiong who is popularly called Papa Eyo said for the people of the constituency it is all about competence and Hon. Ayi who is going for his fifth term in the green chamber is good to go.
He described the former chairman of Calabar South LGA as one of the few people in power who listen to his constituents and is always there for them.
Welcoming the defectors, the Campaign DG thanked them for returning to the PDP, saying the APC is a failed government that deceives the people and has nothing to offer.
“You can deceive the people at some point but not all the time.
“It has done on our people that the APC government has nothing to offer and these people have out themselves together, woken up and realised the PDP is the way to go.
“Having this kind of failed government, they don’t need to be told that they need to come back home”, he said.
