2023: ‘Take your destinies into your own hands,’ Obi urges electorate, says polls crucial to nation’s recovery
Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in the forthcoming General Election, Dr Peter Obi, has urged the electorate to ‘take their destinies into their own hands and avoid electing the wrong leader,’ as he declared that the 2023 polls remains crucial to Nigeria’s overall recovery.
Obi, who made this disclosure while speaking during a New year Special Church Service at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, in Anambra, noted that the country ‘is highly blessed with both human and material resources, and only needs a conducive environment, which only good leadership can offer to bring about the country’s overall recovery from its present state of dismay.’
According to the LP Presidential candidate, the 2023 poll is also important to the country’s survival, as he told the audience to ‘take their destinies into their hands and avoid making the mistake of electing the wrong leaders.’
“Nigeria is highly blessed, but needs good leadership to recover from its present state of dismay. The recovery, however, will be determined by the outcome of the 2023 general election. That is to say that our destiny is in our hands.
“Power belongs to God, and he gives it to whoever He likes. So, Nigerians must pray fervently that God will bless the country with a president that will facilitate this recovery – a president that will use the wealth of the nation to work for the people.
“Nigeria is sinking; youths are leaving the country in droves in search of greener pastures because of bad economy; whereas Nigeria is high blessed with abundant resources. So, we’re praying to have a president that will turn the country and its economy around.”
Obi, who attended the Church Service in the company of the Anambra Central Senatorial candidate of the party, Senator Victor Umeh, told his audience to ‘be cautious of recruiting a Chief Executive, who would lead the country into destruction.’
Remarking, the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma, in his New Year message, encouraged Nigerians not to be perturbed by the country’s battered economy.
The cleric popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso, urged the Nigerian youth, women and all people of goodwill to get their PVCs and vote in the direction that will restore hope to the country.
