Ohanaeze lauds Nigerian Army for quelling insecurity in South East

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has lauded Nigerian Army for its role in quelling the rising insecurity in the Southeast region.
President General, Ohanaeze, Professor George Obiozo made the commendation in Enugu on Wednesday when he played host to the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Maj Gen Taoreed Lagbaja.
Obiozo who was elated by the visit, described Nigerian Army as the best in Africa.
He said, “without peace nations cannot progress and without the Armed Forces we will have more problems. They are the pillars of Nigeria’s unity.”
He urged the Nigerian Army to continue to do their best to ensure peace and security in the entire country.
Gen. Lagbaja in his remarks, commended the Ohanaeze for its leadership role in the region, describing Ohanaeze Ndigbo as a key stake holder in managing the affairs within the Divisions core Area of Responsibility.
According to him, Nigerian Army is an instrument of the state to safeguard peace, security and to ensure economic activities, hence the need to partner all stakeholders to achieve its mandate.
He assured of the preparedness of the Nigerian Army in ensure adequate security in the entire region, but warned troublemakers against breach of security.
