Anambra Poll: Transport unions meet Soludo, declare full support for his guber bid
…donate N500,000 towards his electioneering campaign
The leadership of the Operators of Transporters from all the 21 LGA in Anambra State has declared full support for Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s governorship bid and also donated a princely sum of N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) towards his electioneering campaign.
The association led by Comrades Sylvester Obiorah (keke), Jude Nweigbo (Okada) and Chief Moses (Urban drivers) said they came to pledge their 100% support to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the November 6, Anambra governorship election.
The trio said for years they have been committed and dedicated to the ideals which APGA as political the party represents to the people of Anambra State and Ndigbo in general.
Aside from pledging their unalloyed support to the party and Prof. Soludo, the group vowed to mobilise every Ndi Anambra to vote massively for APGA in the coming election, adding that APGA remains the only political party fully on ground in the state.
“We will mobilise our people, we will cast our votes, stand by our votes and defend our votes” the groups declared.
The group also appealed to Soludo, also known as “Cee Cee”, to look into the issues of multiple ticketing and community interference in their business among other sundry problems confronting the association when he becomes the governor of the State.
Cee Cee Soludo in his response thanked the association for identifying and supporting APGA as the party for Ndi Anambra and his governorship project.
The former CBN Governor reiterated that “APGA is for Anambra and Anambra is APGA”.
He stated that why the opposition are bragging and boasting in the media of coming to “conquer and capture” Anambra State, APGA as responsible political party, will work assiduously towards winning the election convincingly without resort to intimidation or coercion.
Cee Cee Soludo equally expressed his gratitude to the association for donating N500,000 to his electioneering campaign.
“This donation is unique and symbolic and it has literally translated your group from being an association to a support group. And I deeply appreciate it,” he said.
Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the State Government and Director-General of APGA 2021 campaign organisation also commended the associations for their support to the party and its gubernatorial candidate.
He described the association as a powerful union whose contributions in the electioneering process cannot be ignored.
He therefore charged them to remain committed to the ideals which APGA stands for and come out massively to vote Cee Cee Soludo on November 6, as the next governor of Anambra State.
