Autocrash on Owerri-Onitsha highway claims two lives

Two persons were confirmed dead in an auto crash that occurred at Ekulo River, Oraifite, along Owerri- Onitsha highway.
The accident which occurred on Wednesday evening at about 6.55pm was caused by over speeding, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
A statement signed by acting Sector Public Education officer Margaret B. Onabe, on behalf of the Sector Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi explained that the crash involved an ash colour Toyota Sienna with registration no-ENU609CN.
An eyewitness told our Correspondent that the driver of the Toyota Sienna lost control and rammed into a ditch, due to over speeding.
Seven people comprising five male adult, and two female adult were involved in the crash with two of them dead and five sustained serious injuries.
The injured victims were rescued by FRSC personnel and taken to Josephine and Lawrence hospital Oraifite where the male adults were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
It was gathered that the corpses of the dead victims were deposited at Restland Mortuary Oraifite.
The Sector Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi expressed sympathy to the family of the dead victims and urged motorists to maintain Safe driving speed limits, to curb incessant accident on the road.
