Mother and Child Hospital will be completed, assures Gov. Ikpeazu

Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has assured that the Mother and Child Hospital which is in its final stage of completion would soon be inaugurated to provide service to residents of the state.
Speaking after inspecting the facility located opposite Central Police Station, Bende Road, Umuahia, Ikpeazu expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the hospital.
The Governor said he was pleased with the design of the hospital and announced that equipment will soon arrive at the facility.
According to him, the State has already taken delivery of two full containers of medical equipment for the hospital which was donated by Dr Jackson in Denver Colorado, USA, as an offshoot of the collaboration between the State Government and Abians in the Diaspora.
The Governor said that the State Government was also procuring more medical equipment for the hospital.
He assured that government was committed to providing State-of-the-art facilities at the hospital, including laboratory facilities, Radiography, Pharmacy and functional Theatre facilities and all that would be required to take care of specialist issues concerning children and mothers.
The Governor was accompanied on the inspection by his Wife, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, Secretary to Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, and Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Osuji.
