PCRC honours police officers in C’River Command

Cross River State Chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has honoured over 50 gallant officers of the State Police Command.
The gallant officers include the Divisional Police Officer DPO attached to Federal Housing Estate police station Calabar, CSP Joseph Inuyashi for showing exceptional service to the force.
Also honoured include the head of anti- kidnapping /Anti-cultism squad Abdulhameed Awodi who had exhibited skill and expertise in line of duty.
The award took place as part of this year’s Command Security Summit which had as theme: Security Now, Everybody’s Business.
Speaking during the summit, David Amiye, the State Chairman of PCRC said the PCRC is an integral part of community policing and the most ensuring national programme in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan while handing over the laurels to the award recipients stated the recognition in form of award of honour is sequel to the outstanding performance by the serving officers.
“The officers standing on the row are men who have distinguished themselves in their field of discipline.
‘Inuyanshi, this award is coming to you for your stride in crime fighting,” the CP maintained.
According to a traditional ruler in one of the communities in Akpabuyo LGA, Chief Etim Bassey who claimed to have known Inuyashi when he served in Akpabuyo as a DPO, described Inuyashi a dogged police officer who dedicated all his life to crime fighting and ensuring that youths population involved in criminality drastically reduced.
“Inuyashi is one police man known for crime reduction has empowered many young men and provided means of livelihood for the young people so that they indulge in criminality again”, he said.
