NIPC presents commendation letter to BUA Group
Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission has presented a commendation letter to the BUA group during the launch of a three million metric tonnes per annum cement plant in Sokoto.
The letter which was presented by NIPC’s Director, Policy Advocacy, Mr John Oseji read in part, “The Commission commends the Chairman [BUA Group] on this laudable investment because of its immense contribution to the industrialization of the country, conservation of foreign exchange, employment and income development.”
The Sokoto plant which is primarily engaged in the business of quarrying, extracting, processing, dealing in limestone as well as the manufacture and supply of cement is the 4th cement plant that has been commissioned by the BUA Group.
Earlier, in his remarks, President Buhari also commended the group’s resolve and assured that his administration was committed to delivering its promises of easing the doing business environment for investors. “This is shown by the commissioning of the 3rd and 4th line of the [BUA Group) Sokoto plant by my administration,” he said.
On his part, the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele lauded the BUA Group for its investments activities especially with the commissioning of Line 4. He stated that it was worthy to note that the entire line 4 project was singularly funded by the Group.
The Chief host of the day, Chairman, BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu disclosed that the Group have put plans in place to hit a total production capacity of 17 million metric tons per annum, by 2023.
NIPC’s Director, Policy Advocacy, John Oseji and a Principal Officer, Department of State Coordination, AbdulRahman Adamu were on ground to witness the 3MPTA cement plant’s launch.
