Chairman, Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Dr Michael Ajogwu, has denied the allegation in some quarters that the commission failed to provide result sheets for the ongoing local government election in the State.
Ajogwu made the clarification on Wednesday in a chat with Journalists, saying the commission provided enough result sheets and other sensitive materials, in the polling unit across the State.
“Result sheet were provided along other sensitive materials on Tuesday. I don’t understand the claim that result sheets are not provided, because I made them available to all the polling units.”
He assured that the election would be free and fair.
The Chairman further disclosed that the APC fielded candidates across the LGAs.
“APC is contesting in all LG in the state. It’s not true that they are not contesting.
“Only the state Chairman of APC, Ugo Agbara is not contesting, because he became the Chairman of APC on the 15th of February, when he received certificate of return and by that time, all process of election had been completed.
Meanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has cast his vote at his polling unit, describing the conduct of the LG election as peaceful.
