NNPC Ltd engages security operatives in distribution of petrol
In its fuel supply update issued, late Friday, the NNPC Limited said it has engaged the services of various security operatives in the country to ensure that ‘all products loaded at the depots get to the right destination.’
The company, which also urged Nigerians to continue to exercise patience over the scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS) also called petrol, since last week, said it engaging depot operators to load product round the clock to accelerate the restoration of normal distribution.
Nigeria has been hit by scarcity of petrol following the recall of several million litres of the product said to be adulterated as they contain an excessive level of methanol, nor conducive for the Nigerian market.
“NNPC Ltd once again assures Nigerians that it has sufficient stock of Petroleum Products for distribution across the country and is working assiduously with partners to ensure the product reaches every part of the country.
“NNPC is further intensifying efforts to resolve distribution hitches being experienced in some parts of the country due to logistics issues.
“To this effect, NNPC is engaging depot operators to load product round the clock to accelerate the restoration of normal distribution.
“NNPC has also engaged the services of Government Security Agencies to ensure that all products loaded get to the right destination.
“We urge Nigerians to continue to be patient as we strive to return the situation to normalcy,” read the statement.
