Bello inaugurates 20 sub-committee heads ahead March 26 APC National Convention
Sequel to the announcement of the zoning formula to be adopted in the election of members of the national working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during its National Convention slated for this March 26, the party has followed up with the release of names of heads of the 20 sub-convention committees.
Acting Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bello, has reconstituted members of sub-convention committees of the party ahead of the March 26 National Convention.
According to a statement signed by Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, most of the sub-committees are headed by state governors and serving ministers.
The sub-committees include; Central Planning Committee, Secretariat Support, Accreditation, Screening, Screening Appeal, Election, Election Appeal, Legal, Accommodation and Venue/Decoration/Site Servicing committees.
Others are; Transport/Logistics, Media/Publicity, Security/Protocol, Entertainment/Welfare and Medical, Budget, Finance, Accreditation of Volunteers/Diplomats/Observers, Digital and Rapporteur Committees.
Inaugurating the sub-committees on Wednesday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, the Niger governor said the party could not accommodate many members on the panels.
“We task you to exhibit these qualities to ensure the success of the national convention. I know a lot of our party faithful wanted in one way or the other to serve in various committees as their support or contributions towards a healthy party,” Bello said.
“However, we must be mindful that we cannot accommodate everyone in the sub-committees.
“So, we trimmed down the number to a workable size without undermining everyone and I think this decision is the best for our party.”
