Integrated truck and port equipment firm, the Forkliftcenter Group, has established its West African business arm in the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ) operated by Nigerdock.
Chief Marketing officer at Nigerdock, Kevin Johnson-Azuara, declared in a media statement that Forkliftcenter West Africa FZE would now be new subsidiary of the Forkliftcenter Group operating off Snake Island, Lagos.
Mr Azuara described Nigerdock as a leading maritime company and operator of the largest multipurpose seaport in Lagos, adding that the integrated maritime logistics firm would now host a foremost global one-stop shop for trucks and port equipment in its Snake Island facilities.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerdock, Mr Maher Jarmakani, stated that the company would continue to provide fertile ground for growth and expansion of global players into Nigeria and West Africa.
According to him, Nigerdock is committed to providing a vibrant business hub that would host a cluster of global firms that position to serve the regional markets.
“Given our efforts to build a self-sustaining trading hub to serve Nigeria and West Africa, we are delighted to have Forkliftcenter kick off its regional operations from SIIFZ. Nigerdock is committed to facilitating the expansion of mid-to-large sized global clients to Nigeria and the West Africa region.”
Managing Director of Forkliftcenter West Africa FZE, Mr Sil Thonen, stated that the decision of his company to create a new business entity is anchored on Nigeria’s towering market position and the huge potential of West Africa.
He said the Forkliftcenter West Africa FZE would serve as a hub-and-spoke for the West African region. He added that the closeness of the Nigerdock facility to the Lagos quays offers the added benefits of vantage geographical position and free zone status.

Nigeria’s towering market position and the huge potential of West Africa prompted this timely creation of the new entity, Forkliftcenter West Africa FZE, which will serve as a hub-and-spoke for the region. “Its capabilities include terminal operations, ship repair, and facilities management, as well as property and business setup solutions and free zone registration,” Mr Azuara stated.
