Ricketts gets Etung leaders’ endorsement over senatorial ambition

Political leaders and traditional rulers in Etung local government area of Cross River State have endorsed the senatorial ambition of Chief Akin Ricketts.
This follows a consultative visit by the Campaign Team of Senator Akin Ricketts to Etung.
The team was lead by the Director General of the Campaign Organisation Bishop Chris Obase in company of the senatorial hopeful Chief Akin Ricketts.
Welcoming the visiting team to Etung, the council chairman of Etung Ntufam John Etuk said Etung’s support is 100%.
He said Chief Ricketts is like a twin brother to him and is also a very good product for the senatorial race.
“I declare as a person and as a leader of the party in Etung that our support for your senatorial ambition is 100%.
“I am the marketer and Chief Ricketts is my product.
“He is like a twin brother and I’ll stake my neck for you in Etung”, he said.
He added that Chief Ricketts should go and rest as Etung is intact.
At the Etung legislative council, the leader Hon. Okpa Itayi described Chief Ricketts as a very generous man who always has the interest of the people at heart.
He said Chief Ricketts overtime has demonstrated charity, kept his promises and their support for him is final.
At the Etung Council of Chiefs, HRH Obase Erin Obase the Clan head of Agrigon said all their blessings joined together has been given to Chief Ricketts.
He said he is happy Chief Ricketts is one of them and affirmed that he is the right person for the job because the council chairman has never brought a wrong person to them.
Earlier the Director General of the Campaign Organisation Bishop Chris Obase said Chief Ricketts is the best man for the job and he would not be part of the team if he were not convinced of his capabilities.
He said Chief Ricketts is very accessible to the masses and the Senate seat is not for selfish people.
On his part, the senatorial hopeful, Chief Ricketts reaffirmed his promise that he will not let the people down.
He said he will fight to address the problem of poverty, joblessness and also push for a role for traditional rulers when he gets to the Senate so as to help address the challenge of insecurity.
As part of the consultative visit, the chapter Chairman of APC Etung Eric Ndifon took the visiting team to inspect the Etung Secretariat of the party which is undergoing renovation.
