Uzodimma salutes Muslims at Eid-el-Fitr, assures citizens of their safety
…Congratulates Fathers on their Day
Governor of Imo State, Sen Hope Uzodimm has sent his warm felicitations to all fathers as they mark this year’s Father’s Day celebration.
He has also sent congratulatory message to our Muslim brothers and sisters in the country as they mark their Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Governor Uzodimma enjoined the Muslims to take seriously the message of Prophet Mohammed that finds expression in peace, unity, love, sacrifice and fear of God in all their undertakings.
He congratulated them for successfully completing their month long fast and urged them to apply the tenets of their faith and what they learnt during the fasting in all they do.
Governor Uzodimma reminded them that Nigeria craves for their prayers today in the face of security challenges and other problems threatening the unity, peace, love and progress of the country, pointing out that all the faiths owe the country and her leadership a duty to ensure that she lives up to her everyone’s expectations.
“Without peace and unity there is not much that can be achieved by our dear country. So, it behoves on all us to work towards the peace, unity and love that will propel the country’s progress and development.”
In a statement by Governor Uzodimma’s Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, the Governor also used the opportunity to congratulate fathers all over the country in the spirit of the 2022 Fathers Day.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters, the fathers and all Imo citizens, Governor Uzodimma urged them to go about their normal businesses without any fear of molestation, noting that government has put in place measures to ensure that they are not unduly molested.
He reminded the residents, particularly business men, women and traders that there is no sit-at-home in Imo State hence the people should go about their normal businesses tomorrow (Monday) freely without fear of harassment or molestations.
“Imo State is not under any threat,” he said and urged all markets in Imo State to open for normal business without fear.
Governor Uzodimma also hinted that his Government is doing all within it’s powers to ensure peace and order reign in the State.
The Governor specifically thanked all those who identified with him and his family during the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Oprah Chioma Uzodimma and his husband, Henry Ohaeri at the weekend as well as during the Sunday thanksgiving Service.
Present at the Church Service which held at the Government House Chapel Owerri were the newly wed, Henry and Oparah; wife of the Governor, Barr Chioma Uzodimma; the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof Placid Njoku and his wife Bola; Senators; Southeast leadership of APC led by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Eneukwu, former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, Sen Ike Nwachukwu among others.
