Presidency dismisses Shettima’s Boko Haram links, as ‘not true’
Presidency has described security report indicting the Vice Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 General Elections, Senator Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, as ‘not true.’
The security report which have gone viral on media space had indicted the running mate of the ruling party in the 2023 poll, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of collaborating with terrorists groups in Borno to undermine the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement, Friday, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, said that the reports are false.
“We wish to advise well-meaning Nigerians to ignore a laughably puerile report by an online pirate newspaper seeking to sow division and chaos on the choice of Governor Kashim Shettima as the Running Mate of our Party’s Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu.
“This so-called newspaper is like a deadly virus. Stay safe by keeping away from its toxic reports,” Shehu said.
