‘Nigeria not okay’ – Obasanjo, urges electorate to ‘make the right choice in 2023’
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has told the Nigerian electorate to make the right choice in the 2023 General Elections.
According to the former Head of State, the country is not where it should be, adding that ‘If anyone says it is okay where we are at the moment, then the person’s head needs to be examined.’
Speaking as Guest during the Wilson Badejo Foundation 15th Annual Lecture in Lagos, Wednesday, Chief Obasanjo, urged the Nigerian electorate to make the right choices in the forthcoming elections in order to get things right.
The former president who disagreed with those who have persistently claimed that things were alright in the country, said those who belong to that group need their heads ‘to be examined.’
Obasanjo may have been taking subtle digs at some of President Muhammadu Buhari’s aides including ministers who have continually claimed that the country was okay, even amid a worsening insecurity situation.
According to Chief Obasanjo, anyone who says Nigeria is fine needs to be examined, noting that the country is not supposed to be where it is at the moment.
“Nigeria is not where it is supposed to be today. If anyone says it is okay where we are at the moment, then the person’s head needs to be examined.
“It is either we make the right choice in 2023; because if we make the right choice, we would get there,” said the former President.
