Two men axe woman, 85, to death over alleged witchcraft
Police Command in Adamawa State has arrested two men for allegedly killing an 85-year-old woman over accusation of witchcraft.
According to the police, the two suspects, identified as; Gayawan Danzaria, 22; and ThankGod Obadia, 18, who hail from Shimba in Song Local Government Area, are in the custody of the Command and being investigated over the murder.
The men, it was gathered on Monday, axed the 85-year-old man to death after he was accused of witchcraft by a woman who allegedly hired them.
The woman, now at large, had allegedly accused the deceased of bewitching her son and then arranged with the young killers to go after the old man.
Police Public Relations Officer for Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said the two men arrested over the matter were being investigated.
“The accused will be thoroughly investigated and charged to court,” Nguroje assured.
