Gunmen storm police station in Oyo, kill DCO, as DPO, others critically injured

Gunmen, Tuesday night, reportedly stormed the Iganna Police Station in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, killing the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) and a suspect in detention, during the attack.

Public Relations Officer of the Command, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the incident, Wednesday, said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), an Inspector and some suspects, were on a danger list as a result of gunshot wounds they sustained during the attack.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Williams, is currently at the scene of the incident to assess the situation.

Osifeso, however, disclosed that normalcy has returned to the area while security has also been beefed up in the axis.
