2023: We’ll go extra length to ensure Sandy emerges as governor – Women Group

A socio-political organisation, Ikom Women Mandate has promised to go extra length to ensure the success of Professor Sandy Onor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial flag-bearer in Cross River State.
Dr. Nchajeno Otabo Owan, the leader of the organisation disclosed that the track record of Professor Sandy Onor informed the decision of the group to stand solidly behind him.
She maintained that having gone through the PDP gubernatorial flag-bearer’s antecedents, the women arrived at the conclusion that he is the only one with capacity to lead the state.
“We are not like others who parade themselves with hired crowd.
“Ours is a made up of women of integrity and proven record, who are passionately willing to go extra length to ensure that Sandy emerge as state governor.
“His character, pedigree, trusted, with a proven integrity, and has never left any one in doubt. And has capacity to lead the state.
“Right from the days when he served as Chairman of Etung Local Government Council Chairman. Even as senators, he has never given us cause to doubt him.
“Sandy’s love for widows is one of the attributes that endeared me to him.
“The crowd of women you see here are not the hired or rented crowd but women of substance who by all indications had shown commitment in the project Sandy.
“I don’t think there is any other individual that is more qualify for the job than Senator Sandy”, the retired Permanent secretary said.
She said the group is strictly for Sandy and Emana , stressing that it’s aims and objective are to galvanize and mobilize Ikom women to intensify support for the duo.
Also speaking, Emana Duke Ambrose Amahwe, the PDP deputy Governorship flagbearer welcomed the support reposed on Professor Sandy by the women.
Emana Duke, who was represented by the state PDP women Leader, Florence Inyang stated that the time has come when the women have to work together and ensure that their own, Emana Duke emerge as state deputy governor.
