2023: Atiku in Nasarawa, promises job opportunities for youth, infrastructure upliftment
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to uplift infrastructure in Nasarawa State if elected into office in 2023 election.
Abubakar who made this pledge on Monday at the PDP presidential campaign rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State said he will also set aside $10 billion for the employment of youths and women.
“I want to thank the people of Nassarawa for this support. I want to reiterate our commitment to the employment of youths and women in Nigeria. This is why my administration will set aside $10 billion for this purpose,” he said.
“I will lift up Nasarawa’s infrastructure if voted into office.”
National Chairman of PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, who also at the rally said Abubakar will win the majority of votes from the North-Central zone during the 2023 presidential election, even as he also urged members who had left the party to return.
“Atiku will get his highest votes from North-Central. I expect Nasarawa to give Atiku 95 per cent of votes. We started the journey in Nasarawa in 1998,” he said.
“I urge all those who have left the party to come back to the winning party; come join the winning train.”
Also present at the rally included Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta governor and PDP vice-presidential candidate; Godwin Obaseki, Edo State Governor; Udom Emmanuel, Akwa Ibom State Governor; and Ndudi Elumelu, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
