…Commends the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Rev. Fr Augustine Echema
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State has commended the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Rev. Fr Augustine Echema, the Church and the entire Catholic faith for their sustained prayers and for sticking to their divine call in the vineyard of God.
Professor Ikonne who this commendation at the St. Dominic Catholic Church, Federal Housing Estate Ogbor Hill Aba during the launch-cum-foundation laying ceremony of the Church New Presbytery described them as veritable partners in progress.
The guber hopeful who spoke through his running mate Barr. Okey Igwe further stressed the need for Abians to support and vote massively for him and all PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections for more economic development across the state.
He renewed his promise to anchor the state’s economic development drive on trade, industrialization, good governance, functional and vocational education, and rural development.
In a homily earlier, the Rev. Fr. Joachim Anumba while appreciating God over the massive growth of the Parish also charged Christians to cultivate the habit of investing quality time and resources in the vineyard of God in other to attract more blessings from him.
In a vote of thanks, the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Rev. Fr. Echema lauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his administrative ingenuity and goodwill towards the Church, especially the Catholic Church and prayed God to continue to strengthen him for the greater task ahead.
The event which featured the sacrament of confirmation by the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, prayers for the sustained peace in the state also attracted the presence of the Governor of Abia State, represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, the member representing the good people of Aba Central, Chief Abraham Oba, and his Obingwa West counterpart and DG OVI for Senate, Barr. Thomas Nkoro, Chief Aron Uzodike, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Chief Okezie Erondu,members of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organisation including Prof.Dick Uduma among other top government officials.
