Insecurity major challenge in funeral industry __ APAMS

The Managing Director of APams Funeral Limited, Sir Kevin Chukwumobi (Ike Ukpor) , has cited insecurity as the major challenge in today’s funeral industry, while calling on government to take urgent steps to arrest the malady.
Speaking during the Apams Limited End of Year Party held at the company’s corporate headquarters in Onitsha, the business mogul recounted the ugly ordeal of the company last Thursday, when an Escalade Jeep ambulance of the company worth over N40 million, was snatched at gun point along the Umuoji road in Anambra State.
Explaining further, the Apams boss urged governments at all levels, to ensure the issue of insecurity tops its priority, in order to stem the ugly tide.
Representatives of the over 18 branches of the funeral company nationwide, had gathered for the annual end of year party, amid fun and pageantry.
Awards were given to best performing branch of the company by the MD, who announced monetary sums and incentives.
In addition, over 200 bags of rice and cooking condiments, were given to workers, as well as invited guests, in celebration of the yuletide.
The highlight of the party was the appointment of a General Manager of the company, with an official car handed to him for the effective function of his office by the MD .
The Apams Funeral Limited, foremost funeral company east of the Niger, has seen to the funeral services of notable personalities in the South Eastern states and beyond.
This includes former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Wife of former Head of State Aguiyi Ironsi, and that of Premier of the defunct Eastern Central State, M. I. Okpara, Dr Dora Akunyili and a host of other dignitaries.
