Ten opposition parties endorse PDP governorship candidate in C’River

Ahead of the March 18 governorship elections in Cross River State, 10 opposition political parties under the aegis of Coalition of Opposition Political Parties (COPP) have endorsed the ambition of Sandy Onor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the state.
Ntami Esege, Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement who signed the release by COPP which was sighted by our correspondent said they arrived at the decision after careful assessment of all candidates.
He justified their decision saying it is based on Onor’s competence, capacity and character as well as their resolve to support someone with the right credentials.
“The chairmen of political parties under the aegis of the Coalition of Opposition Parties (COPPS) Cross River State Chapter formally adopts and endorse Ntufam Senator Professor Sandy Onor candidate of the PDP for the position of governor in the March 18 2023 election.
“We arrived at this decision after a careful assessment of all the candidates with focus on competence, capacity and character.
“Conscious of what the state has gone through in the last eight years, we unanimously resolved to support a man with the right credentials to lead the state to an enviable height”, he said.
Some of the parties who also signed the COPP statement include Accord Party, Zenith Labour Party, Allied People’s Movement, Action Alliance and the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
