March 18: I am still in the race – C’River SDP candidate for state assembly

The Social Democratic Party ( SDP) candidate for the Calabar Municipality State Constituency elections has denied rumours he has withdrawn from the race.
Francis Effanga Edet disclosed this in Calabar when he was presented before leaders of the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, District Headquarters Ikot Ansa Four miles Calabar Municipality Local Government Areas in Cross River State.
He said the rumour about his withdrawal is from the pit of hell, adding that his ambition to represent the people of Calabar Municipality is on course.
He pledged to provide effective representation for the people of the Constituency and also promised that poverty will come to an end.
“It’s high time we changed the narratives, with my presence in the chambers lawlessness and poverty among youths of the Constituency would become a thing of the past.
“Let me use this privilege to debunk all the rumour making the rounds in certain quarters that I have thrown in the towel is a lie from the pit of hell.
“I am still in the contest. This is a lie from my opposition who are so afraid of me being in the contest. I am still in the race, “he said.
He also promised the congregation that when elected, he would engage other law makers to formulate laws that would better the lots of tbe Constituents.
Presenting the candidate before the leaders of Apostolic Church Nigeria, officiating minister, Chaplain, Utibe Williams stated that with Effanga, the people of Calabar Municipal can be at peace.
He added that Effanga is the only man with capacity to legislate on laws and policies that if implemented would bring transformation and succour to the constituents.
