Tinubu in closed-door meeting with 36 states governors
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with governors of the 36 states of the federation, under the umbrella of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting also involves new personalities elected as governors in their various states, as well as the returning ones.
The meeting commenced at noon shortly after Tinubu swore in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The swearing-in ceremony was held briefly at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
Akume took his Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office in the presence of government officials.
Among those present at the swearing-in were Vice President Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and the spouse of the new SGF, Mrs Regina Akume.
Akume has since settled into his new role as SGF while Tinubu is currently meeting with governors of the 36 states
