Otti appoints substantive Rector for College of Health Sciences, Aba

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has appointed Mr. Aloysius Ekeleme Okezie as the new Rector of Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba.
The appointment of the new substantive Rector is sequel to Governor Otti’s recent directive dissolving all boards of agencies, parastatals and Commissions. The directive asked all appointees of the immediate past government occupying such positions to handover to most senior civil servants in the areas they held sway.
Very close to end of his administration, the immediate past Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, had named Dr. Osita Igbe as the new Rector of Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba; but the swearing of Otti as the new Governor of the Labour Party forced the tide against Dr. igbe who is a staunch Peoples Democratic Party chieftain.
A terse statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Otti, Kazie Uko on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, said the appointment of Mr. Aloysius Ekeleme Okezie, should clear all doubts about who the substantive Rector of the College is.
“The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved the appointment of Mr. Aloysius Ekeleme Okezie as the substantive Rector, Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba. The appointment is with immediate effect.
“The current Rector is by this notice directed to hand over the duties of his office to Mr. Okezie. This announcement clarifies and supersedes any other information with respect to the School of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba, in the media before now,” Uko stated.
