Write-A-Thon: 27 yr old UNICAL Undergraduate sets new writing record

A twenty seven years old University of Calabar undergraduate, Daniel Ehis Aiguokhian has set a new writing record 188 hours.
Ehis, a philosophy student , who has been writing for the part one week wrote a total of 19 books with a minimum of 30 pages each comprising eight fiction and eleven nonfiction.
Speaking at the SUG Hall of the university after setting the new record, he said he feels very great to have achieved that feat.
He said that what motivated him was his desire to ensure that Nigerian and African writers are celebrated.
He also disclosed that “the major thing is not to set the record itself but to use that thing you want to do to impact lives.
“For me, the word for young people out there is to have a bigger picture of the thing they are doing and work hard towards achieving it”, he said.
Ehis who hails from Ovia South West LGA of Edo State said he has the dream since 2007.
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Florence Obi thanked Ehis on behalf of the management of the institution for making them proud.
In her words, “this is a very big phenomenal feat and we are proud of him.
“Each minute we were praying for him and at some point we thought he will fail us but he made it, other youths should emulate Ehis because there is so much that they can do”, she said.
On his part, the commissioner for youths and skills development Bar. Odum Ijom Ukam said Ehis has changed the narrative with this singular feat.
He maintained that hitherto, young people known for all forms of anti social activities and vices but here you have set the records straight and given is the opportunity to look at the world with our chest up.
