Gov Eno assents AKISIEC Amendment Bill

 Gov Umo Eno, on Monday  granted assent to the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) Amendment Bill, recently passed by the State House of Assembly.

Gov Eno, performed the brief ceremony at the Government House, Uyo in the presence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong, the Chairman of AKISIEC, Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, the SSG, Prince Enobong Uwah, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Frank Archibong.

With the amendment, AKISIEC is, among other things, expected to come up with a programme of action that will culminate in the conduct of local government elections in the state.
