Deregulation: PHED approves two vendors; releases new meter prices for consumers

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution company has approved two vendors to supply pre paid meters to customers within its franchise area.
The approval follows the recent decision of the federal government through the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC to deregulate the sales of meters within the electricity market in the country.
In a message published on PHED’s website, the company said Armese Consulting Limited and Holley Metering Nigeria Limited have been selected to supply meters to customers.
Details of the meter prices shows that Armese will sell a single phase Din -Rail meter for 143, 552.77 naira while a three phase Din -Rail meter will go for 226, 593.61.
Similarly, for Holley Metering Nigeria Limited, a single phase Smart meter will go for 137,339.54 naira and a three phase will go for 211, 356.06.
Also, a single phase Smart Meter M Bus will go for 125,804.66 while it’s three phase counterpart goes for 211, 356.06.
A single phase Smart meter GSM/GPRS will go for 137,339.54 and it’s three phase counterpart will go for 211, 356.06.
A single phase Din -Rail Plc meter will go for 112, 834.21 naira.
The release which is endorsed by the management of the organization said the prices are exclusive of VAT.
