Our government will continue to do the right things – Gov. Otti
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has reassured that his government will continue to do the right things and affect lives positively.
Governor Otti stated this while receiving in audience, a delegation of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission led by the Executive Secretary, Bishop (Prof.) Stephen Tunde Victor Adegbite.
“I want to reassure you that this government will continue to do the right things”.
“We believe that leadership is about service. We also believe that as a leader, if you are not interested in the welfare of the people, you have already failed”.
Governor Otti said that he is very methodical in the way he manages the State’s funds, adding that people wonder how he has been running the administration without borrowing. He added that anytime he would borrow, it would be for investments.
Governor Otti disclosed that there are a lot of programmes in his election manifesto, saying that he is following them one after the other and noting that so far, his administration has done well.
The State Chief Executive revealed that he is working towards reconstituting the Abia State Pilgrims Welfare Board. He acknowledged the roles of the Church prior to his election and
thanked the Executive Secretary for appreciating his achievements in the State.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop (Prof.) Stephen Adegbite called on the Governor to reconstitute the Abia State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He said that Abia State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has remained a very friendly partner in the Christian Pilgrims project.
He said that the arrangement for the 2024 Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land has not been concluded, revealing that
the cost of the pilgrimage is Five million Naira, saying that as soon as they have approval of the State support, they would disclose how much it will cost a pilgrim to visit the Holy Land.
He appreciated the achievements of Governor Alex Otti in the last 16 months and described the Governor as an expectation of Abians.
“Your Excellency, you are the great expectation of the people of Abia State. God has graciously enthroned you in such a time like this”
The Governor was joined to receive the delegation by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matter, Pastor Kenneth C. Wiper
