Gov Otu flags off preparations for 2024 Carnival Calabar

Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu has flagged off preparations for the 2024 Carnival Calabar with the first dry run.
This activity marks the first of three dry runs held annually to prepare for the main Carnival in December.
The Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elvert Ayambem, assured that it will be the biggest and best yet.
He also extended a warm invitation to visitors and tourists from around the world to join in the festivity.
The dry run was attended by prominent figures including Onari Duke, the former Governor’s wife, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Peter Okpara, and leaders of the seven competing carnival bands.
Chairman of the State Carnival Commission, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming carnival and assured that all preparations have been made to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
The event was characterized by lively and enthusiastic vibes, signaling the start of another fantastic carnival season in Calabar.
