Israel-Palestine Conflict: Nigeria calls for peaceful resolution
Nigeria is lending its voice as a key player on the global stage to finding a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the Israel-Palestine war in the Middle East.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris made this known in Riyadh, on Sunday while Speaking to Journalists on Nigeria’s participation in the ongoing 2024 Joint-Arab Islamic Summit, in Saudi City.
Idris said that the Nigerian Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu believes warring countries must de-escalate and return to a re-negotiating table to give a chance to deliberate humanitarian cause, truce and harmony in the region.
“Now one year down the line we have seen the kind of thing that has happened In Israel and Palestine we have seen the kind of Loss of lives and destruction of property that everyone around the globe is talking about and so when this summit was muted and Nigeria was invited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu consistent with his thinking about you know being very humane.
“He’s a very humane leader he looks at the issue of humanity very seriously whatever the reasons are he thinks that both countries must de-escalate, they must come back to the renegotiating table.”
Affirming President Tinubu’s position on peaceful resolution of the spilling war in the Middle East, the Minister of Information restated that irrespective of claims from all parties, the ongoing conflict will not end on the war front.
“So that at least for you know let’s have some peaceful resolution whatever the case, this conflict can never end on the war front we must come to find a diplomatic solution and this is exactly what what we are seeking here.
“And so Nigeria is seizing the moment again to participate to lend its voice as a very important player on the global stage to ensure that all countries of the world have a peaceful resolution to this matter,” Idris added.
