Chief Austin Edibe, a former Vice Chairman North of the Cross River State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has been sworn into office as the new acting chairman of the party.
This follows last week’s removal of the former state chairman Venatius Ikem by the State Working Committee of the party.
Edibe in his acceptance speech said his emergence shows the strength of the constitution of the party and promised to run an inclusive administration.
“I wish to congratulate us as a party, my emergence is in line with the constitution of the party and I feel very humbled to be given this opportunity.
“This shows the strength of the constitution of the party, the new administration will serve the party with all our might and do things collectively”, he said.
The party also inaugurated a new vice chairman North, Julius Udayi who succeeds Edibe.
