Nwifuru presents N396.5bn 2025 Budget to State Assembly

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has presented a total of N396,589, 00,620bn as budget estimates for the 2025 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.
Tagged “Budget of Economic and Social Development”, Nwifuru while laying the budget on the floor of the Hallowed Chamber, Thursday, expressed the hope that the budget estimates would guarantee industrialization, economic growth and improved standard of living in the state.
The budget breakdown shows that Education sector has the highest chunks of the budget estimates of N70,143, 386, 000.00bn, followed by health sector with a total of N39,012,563,000.00bn.
The Governor explained that his administration believes that educational training should be repositioned to guarantee entrepreneurial knowledge and the acquisition of skills for economic self-reliance at all levels.
“Pursuant to this, therefore, we have introduced many reforms in the curriculum of basic and secondary education sector to emphasize technology and science.
“To give credence to this, our administration has set out to rejig teaching and learning in public schools through employment of teachers with bias in technology and entrepreneurial education”, he said.
In the budget estimates, Economic and social sectors are taking highest with N200, 132,170 000.00,bn and N141, 180,049,000.00bn respectively representing 50.46% and 35.60% respectively.
Administrative and law and justice sectors are taking N50.9bn representing 22.8% and N4.1bn representing 1.04% of the total budget
