Seplat consolidates asset performance records with new wells, pipeline

Multinational energy independent with operational base in Nigeria, Seplat Energy Plc, is solidifying its reputation on asset performance, adding new production well in first part of the years and working to commission new evacuation pipeline by seconds half.
According to the company’s operational highlights declared for the first half of the year, the company which is separately listed in Nigeria and London posted strong improvements in asset and facility development as well as safety records.
Director of Public Affairs, Dr Chioma Nwachuku, stated that consistent production uptime, two additional production wells and ongoing Amukpe-Escravos Pipeline create growth paths for the company’s output.
On operations uptime, she stated that Seplat’s safety record extended to more than 20.5 million man hours without lost time to incident (LTI) on Seplat-operated western assets within the first half of 2021.
He added that production rate increased with the completion and commissioning of the Oben-50 and 51 gas wells in the period, while the company’s ongoing Amukpe-Escravos Pipeline is expected to see first lifting from last quarter of the year.
Dr Nwachuku said that the growth facilities enabled Seplat to record working-interest oil and gas production within guidance at 50,786 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in the period, with liquids production at 30,028 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and gas production jumping 21 percent to 120 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd).
The Oracle Today reports that Seplat is driving total rebranding to reflect its diversification into a full scope energy company in alignment with global movement towards new energy options.
