PDP will win Anambra Governorship poll, says party chairman

Chairman of Anambra Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Ndubisi Nwobu has declared that the party would win the November 6 Governorship election in the state.
This is even as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to list the PDP among political parties approved to contest the election scheduled for November 6, this year following multiple litigation trailing the party’s June 26 primary poll which produced two factions, each with a candidate for the governorship ticket.
Nwobu who stated this while briefing newsmen on Wednesday, however, acknowledged that the election would not be a tea party.
Nwobu-led State executive was restored by the Appeal court in Abuja. He lauded the judiciary for doing the needful.
He said anyone hoping on power of incumbency to win the election would be disappointed, arguing that every candidate must be able to sell his manifestoes to the people.
“The crisis that engulfed the State chapter of the PDP prior to party primary can be likened to a mad made who used a sledge hammer to destroy a house that took toil and sweat to build. But the crisis experienced by PDP is a child’s play when compared to the one hitting rival political parties.
“Now that order has been restored in the State Chapter of the party, supporters and leadership of Party are poised to join forces to ensure victory for the the party’s Governorship candidate, Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo.
“We are sponsoring a candidate for the election. He is Chief Valentine Ozigbo. He has our collective support. This state executive which I lead is resolute and believes in the candidature of Ozigbo and will work in tandem with him to get to the Government House in Agu Awka,” Nwobu said.
