Abia 2023: Group picks PDP forms for Ogah
Group, the Umunneochi Progressive Minds (UPM) has purchased the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for recently-defected All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Abia State, Hon Chief Amobi Ogah.
Only last Thursday, Chief Ogah, the younger sibling of current Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, dumped the APC, as he announced his defection to the PDP in Abia State.
Ogah contested the APC primaries for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency during the 2019 General Elections, but lost to Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejocha who eventually won the seat.
Amobi resigned his membership of the APC in a letter addressed to the Ward 8 chairman in Uturu, on March 17, 2022.
Hours after his resignation letter went viral on social media and mainstream media, Chief Ogah was seen joining the PDP with his group of supporters in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Ward 8 Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Romanus Iroogaraya was present to accept Chief Amobi into the party with some of his executive committee members.
The Abuja branch of the UPM led by Comrade Ogu Augustine Uchenna alongside his members picked the PDP forms for Ogah to enable him vie for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Representatives position come 2023.
PDP had pegged the price for the House of Representatives nomination form and expression of interest form for N2million and N500,000, respectively.
The group leader said they decided to purchase the forms for him to vie for the position for a better representation as he claimed Ogah would represent the constituency well.
