Abia Deputy Governor pledges to restore electricity supply to Ohafia

Abia State Deputy Governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu, has assured the people of Ohafia that power outage in the area would soon be a thing of the past.
Emetu who graced a Thanksgiving Service in Ohafia said that lack of electricity supply to Ohafia for the past five years would be fully restored to give the people a sense of belonging.
Engr. Emetu spoke during the Thanksgiving Service and reception ceremony in honour of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, following his victory and inauguration as member of the 10th National Assembly. The event was held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Isiama Parish, Elu Ohafia.
He reaffirmed that the new administration came to governance to change the ugly fortunes of Abia. Emetu said though the challenges met on ground were enormous, the Otti-led government was equal to the task of offsetting all the arrears of salaries and pensions owed Abia workers and pensioners, and as well generate employment for the youths in line with their campaign promises.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the member representing Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, on his victory and charged him to contribute his quota to the development of his primary constituency in particular and Abia at large by complimenting the present administration’s developmental drive and sponsor bills that would be of immense benefit to the people.
He also commended the people of Ohafia for their massive support that led to the overwhelming victory of Labour Party in the area during the 2023 general polls, assuring that government would not fail them, especially with their sons as Deputy Governor and member of Federal House of Representatives, respectively.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the Church to continue to intercede and pray for the present administration to enable it succeed in making life more meaningful for Abians.
In his sermon, the past Principal Clerk of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev. Dr. Uma Agwu Onwunta, charged Christians, especially leaders at various levels, to remember that they got to their exalted positions by God’s grace and not by their own strength, hence they should always remember those that voted them and equally make accountability their watchword.
Preaching on the topic, “Forget Not All His Benefits,” The Most Rev. Dr. Onwunta commended the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Osonwa, for doing the needful by coming in thanksgiving to acknowledge God’s goodness in his life and prayed God to guide him through his legislative duties.
