Abia entrepreneurs urged to embrace Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme

Abia Commissioner for Small and Medium Enterprise and New Businesses Development, Hon. Adaku Uwaoma Onusiriuka Oseiza, has assured that it would encourage entrepreneurs in the state to register and embrace the ongoing Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship Programme 2022.
The Commissioner gave the assurance during her ministry’s maiden meeting with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Hublead in her office, at the Abia Investment House, Umuahia.
Hon. Oseiza, assured the Hublead of the readiness of Abia MSME to apply for the $5000 TEF grant whose objectives are to help grow Micro, Small Medium Enterprise in Africa and change the face of doing business in the continent , as well as improving her economy. She, therefore urged Abia SMEs to visit the TEF website to apply, www.tefconnect.net.
According to her, the TEF philosophy of Africapitalism, which positions Africa’s private and SME’s sector and, most importantly entrepreneurs, as the catalyst for social and economic development, was the major driving agenda of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration.
Earlier, the TEF Hublead, Mr. Ikechukwu Awa, disclosed that TEF flagship initiative, the TEF entrepreneurship program was a 10-year, $100 million commitment to identify, train, mentor and fund 10,000 entrepreneurs, capable of changing the face of business across Africa.
According to him, the TEF entrepreneurship programme provides mentorship, training, networking and $ 5000 funding to successful entrepreneur applicants.
Awa extolled Abia State government for all the support it has given to the SMEs and commended the efforts and commitment of the Commissioner in ensuring that Abia SMEs benefit in all SMEs credit facilities and also pledged to assist Abians benefit from the TEF grants.
