Abia governor offers N2.5m reward for information on attackers of military, police officers

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has announced a N2.5 million reward for any person or group with information leading to the arrest of those behind an attack on military and police officers in the state recently.

A statement released by the Secretary to the Government of Abia State, Barrister Chris Ezem, on Monday, said the attack on the security personnel took place at Ukwa and Ohafia respectively.

“Abia State Government hereby announces a cash reward of N2.5 million each for any person or group that provides information  leading to the arrest of those involved in the attack against the Military and Police Officers at Ukwa and Ohafia respectively.

“Any such information which should be sent to the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Government House Umuahia will be treated with the highest confidentiality,” the statement read.

In a related development, Governor Ikpeazu, has approved the constitution of the Board of Directors of the State Water and Sewerage Corporation.

The new members are as follows: Henry Akujuobi Nwachukwu – Chairman; Barrister Anthony Onyebuchi Anyanwu – Member; Mrs. Agodi Onyeaso – Member; Mr. Chidi Elvis Nkem- Aruoma – Member; Engr. Osuoha Kingsley – Member; Engr. Emma Nwabuko – Member; Hon. Tony Nwanmuo – Member.

Others include: Sir Romanus Madu – Member; Lady Uloma Harley Onuoha – Member; and Mrs Charity Ihejirika – Member.

“The appointment which is for a four-year term and on part time basis, takes immediate effect,” said the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, on Monday.
