Abia govt. working to end insecurity in Umunneochi – Igwe

Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon. Barr. Okey Igwe, has assured the people of Umunneochi that the Dr Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration in the state was doing everything possible to stamp out the insecurity ravaging the local government area, as well as other parts of the state.

Hon. Igwe who is also the member representing Umunneochi State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, gave the assurance at the weekend when he paid homage to many traditional rulers in the local government area on the occasion of the 2022 New Yam Festival (Iri Ji) in the area.
The royal fathers whom Hon. Igwe graced their New Yam festivities include the Traditional Rulers of Umuogele Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Edwin Madu, Ogele 11 of Umuogele; HRM Eze Okechukwu Chukwuji, Logu 1 of Amuda; HRH Eze I. Okam, Ihe 1 of Umuehihie and Paramount Ruler of Isuochi Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Dr. G. I. Ezekwesiri, Ochi 1 of Isuochi.
At the respective palaces, the Running Mate to the PDP Governorship standard bearer told the monarchs that government was working assiduously, deploying various measures to end insecurity in Umunneochi
He urged the traditional rulers to join hands with government in the fight against insecurity, promising that the menace would soon be history.
Hon. Igwe commended the monarchs for sustaining the cultural heritage of Isuochi people, as well as their roles in ensuring unity their various domains and equally unifying the people of Isuochi.
