An All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for the 2021 governorship aspirant in November polls in Anambra State, and member of the House of Representatives, Okwudili Ezenwankwo, has made a case for a level playing field during the party primaries.
The lawmaker said that he is for a credible primary election that would be acceptable as free and fair by all and sundry in the party.
During a courtesy visit to the Anambra State House of Assembly Tuesday, Ezenwankwo tabled his aspiration before the 24 state lawmakers and pleaded for their support.
He told the lawmakers, who welcomed him, to use their goodwill to prevail on various organs of the party to ensure a credible process of nominating the party’s flagbearer.
Ezenwankwo (Orumba North/South Federal Constituency), said although he was not in the race to make up the numbers, if he loses in a credible process, “I will throw my weight behind the winner of the party’s nomination.”
He said, “I am here as one of you, and co-card carrying members of our great party, APGA.
“I plead with Your Honorables to use your goodwill as the shinning lights of our great party to prevail on the party to ensure that we have a transparent primary election.”
Ezenwankwo, who is a successful businessman and market leader told the lawmakers of his extensive contributions to APGA over the years.
He promised that he will steer APGA and governance in general to greater heights if given the mandate to govern Anambra.
The Speaker, Uchenna Okafor promised that APGA will ensure a level playing ground during the nomination process to put the party in a stronger position to retain the governorship of the state.
